Broken links

Crawls your site and follows every link, image and script to find the ones that return an error. Broken links frustrate visitors and hurt your search ranking.

How it works

Once a day, we crawl your site the way a visitor would: we start at your monitored URL and follow every link on the same domain. On each page we check every link, image, script and stylesheet, and record the ones that return an error, with the page they were found on and their link text.

The report splits the results into tabs:

  • Internal and External: broken links on your own domain and on other sites;
  • Added and Fixed: what changed since the previous crawl;
  • Removed: broken links that disappeared from your pages;
  • Ignored: your ignore patterns;
  • Crawled: how many URLs and pages were checked.

You can ignore a link straight from the report. Fix with AI gives you a ready-made prompt for a coding assistant, listing every broken link and where it was found.

Fixing common problems

  • Internal broken links: correct the URL, or add a redirect from the old address to the new one.
  • External broken links: the other site moved or removed the page. Update the link, point it to an archived copy, or remove it.
  • False positives: some sites block crawlers and answer 403 or 429 even though the page works in a browser. Add them to the ignore list.
  • Logout or cart links: ignore them, so the crawler does not log out or fill a cart.
